Although integrating Hawaiian knowledge with technology is nothing new, its great to see that people like Keao Nesmith are continuing do so. A great way to participate without selling out.

Kumu Kimo mentioned something along the lines that we should do more bridging of the gap between the reading and the current news of today. But when I think of current news, iʻm thinking GMOs poisoning Hawaiʻi and Kawaihaoʻs disrespect for Iwi.

So whats the bridge, protesting.

Consider the history of Kamakakūokalani.

Kamakakūokalani is standing because of people who refused to work within the model. They used their passion to protest the system, which in-turned provided this program. Without their passion and understanding of racism we wouldnʻt be discussing this indigenous economies. Therefore, we have a few professors at Kamakakūokalani who are  great examples of how to participate in a meaningful way and improve well-being.And like Kamakakūokalani, Leokī would be non-exsistent/insignificant if it werenʻt for Hawaiians who had passion and protested powers in control.
