Cahn fa'asamoa

Indigenous entrepreneurs are usually more oriented toward the well being of their community as a whole rather than their own personal benefit. This article made me think of Aulani when I read "the world businesses and economic activities are embedded in the cultural and social aspects, creating unique styles of enterepreneurship." World businesses seek out cultural knowledge and social aspects in order to exploit the culture for commercial gain. We have many Hawaiian Language and Hawaiian studies students and alumni that work for these large corporations in order to survive. These corporations are marketing the culture for their own gain not for the betterment of the community. By participating in this cycle we give control and power of our culture over to these external entities.
Instead of having these world businesses control, manipulate, and exploit our culture we should look to what we can do to become entrepreneurs in order to give our people job oppurtunities where they can impart authentic cultural knowledge/awareness and make a living as well.
