Kanoe Naone

Kanoe Naone was an awesome speaker! I personally feel that she has been by far the most inspirational speaker yet. The work that she does just clearly shows us that our culture is not dying, but growing. Her presentation opened my eyes to the contemporary things our own people are doing to make a difference in our communities. It was a relief to know that the future is not lying only on my generation's shoulders alone. All throughout high school, it seemed like the fate of our culture rested in my and my fellow classmates' hands because "our lāhui is suffering and we are the minority, the victims." Naone's presentation wasn't anything sad like that; rather, it was a sign of hope and sense of true identity. In this ever-changing society, it is our job to imua and adapt.
